A Worm Speed Reducer transmits power through meshing worm and worm gear teeth to reduce rotational speed and increase output torque. The input shaft and output shaft are arranged at a 90-degree angle, and a single-stage structure can achieve a large transmission ratio. Structure and Material Configuration

Two housing options are provided: aluminum alloy housing and cast iron housing. Small-sized worm gearboxes adopt die-cast aluminum alloy for lighter weight and good heat dissipation. Models for heavy loads use cast iron housing with stronger structural rigidity to withstand large external mounting loads.

The worm is made of alloy steel and processed by quenching and precision grinding to maintain stable tooth hardness and reduce operation wear. The worm gear is made of wear-resistant bronze alloy to adapt to sliding meshing and slow down tooth surface loss during long-term operation.

The unit is equipped with standard bearings and high-quality oil seals to control assembly clearance and lower the risk of oil leakage. All standard parts have good versatility for easy later replacement and maintenance.
Basic Product Performance

Standard reduction ratios of single-stage worm gear reducers range from 5 to 100. Customers can select suitable models based on required output speed. Some specifications have self-locking performance, so the load cannot drive the input end reversely. When used in lifting mechanisms, additional braking components can be simplified.

Power is transmitted via continuous sliding meshing of gear teeth. The reducer generates small impact, vibration and noise during operation, suitable for production lines with noise requirements.

Multiple mounting methods are supported, including foot mounting, flange mounting, hollow shaft output and solid shaft output to fit various equipment frames. The reducer can be directly matched with three-phase motors and speed regulating motors, bringing simple assembly and commissioning.

Q: Does every worm gear reducer have self-locking function?
A: Self-locking performance is related to reduction ratio and load. It cannot be used as a complete brake. An extra brake is required under heavy load conditions.
